Springboard+
Springboard+ is a government initiative offering free and heavily subsidised courses at certificate, degree, and masters level leading to qualifications in areas where there are employment opportunities in the economy. These areas include ICT, engineering, green skills, manufacturing and construction, among many others. There are over 300 courses available for 2022-23, the majority of which are flexible and part-time.
Springboard+ courses are free for people who are unemployed, those who were previously self-employed and returners to the workforce. Courses at NFQ Level 6 are also free for those in employment. For employed participants on courses NFQ Level 7 – 9, 90% of the course fee is government funded, with participants required to contribute just the balancing 10%.
