This short seminar will give an outline of the MA in Journalism and Digital Content Creation, an exciting and practical master’s programme that is offered by the Department of Media Communications at MTU.
Two of the programmes graduates, Mike McGrath Bryan, features writer with the Irish Examiner and The Echo, and Niamh Áine Ryan, Deputy Editor, Cork Independent, will share their experiences of the programme and how it helped them in their media careers.

Masters in Journalism and Digital Content Creation
This programme is run by the MTU Crawford College of Art & Design – Department of Media Communications. The Masters in Journalism and Digital Content Creation programme blends journalistic tools and techniques with content creation using new technologies and digital media to prepare students for the new media workplace. The programme has a strong connection with the media industry. Graduates of this programme are well equipped with the requirements to operate as today’s digital journalists and content creators.
The overall aim of this programme is to produce graduates who can demonstrate essential skills in the fast-moving environment that is modern Journalism. Graduates will have acquired the knowledge, skills and competencies that will equip them to function as professionals with a solid grounding in the tools and practices of print, broadcast and online journalism.
