What To Expect

This Bachelor of Business in Management degree is for persons who intend to pursue careers in professional management in a wide variety of industry contexts. This qualification will enable participants to contribute to the future growth and development of their organisations while also providing access to further level 8 and 9 qualifications in Business.

Applicants with a level 6 or higher qualifications in a non-business discipline complete the two years of the qualification. Applicants with a level 6 Higher Certificate in Business qualification must complete the second and final year of this level 7 qualification.

Duration & Delivery

Year 1: Two/Three evenings per week, 6pm – 10pm
Year 2: Two/Three evenings per week, 6pm – 10pm
(Extra workshops and tutorials will be provided)

ACCS Scheme

ACCS is an acronym for “Accumulation of Credits and Certification of Modules”. This scheme allows students (for specified courses) – instead of studying an entire course – to study one or more modules of that course. Modules passed, are certified individually, and can be accumulated, leading to an award of Higher Certificate, Degree or Honours Degree.

Year One Entry
Course Code: CR_BMNGT_7_Y2 (Qualifying Year)

A minimum of a two year Higher Certificate (Level 6) is required in a discipline other than business studies.

Note: Students in the Qualifying Year must account for 60 credits, either by Recognition of Prior Learning and/or course work. The module selection for each student will be carried out in conjunction with the course coordinator.

On successful completion of the Qualifying Year, students can progress to a Bachelor of Business in Management.

Year Two Entry
Course Code CR_BMNGT_7_Y3 (Award Year)

Higher Certificate in Business, with minimum of Pass result or successful completion of the Qualifying Year of the Bachelor of Business in Management (Level 7).

Course fee: €185 per 5 credit module (inc. exam fees)

All part-time programmes at MTU will run subject to sufficient student numbers. Where a programme cannot proceed, applicants will be contacted and advised on alternative study options.

Students should note that fees quoted relate to the academic year 2022-2023 only and are subject to change on an annual basis. Except where stated, course fees cover the cost of tuition only.
